OD Pavilion Social & Shag Club - Charities

The OD Pavilion Social & Shag Club has many charities that we donate to on an annual basis. The club donates to various other charities, funds, organizations, golf tournaments, junior shaggers associations, and people in need.

Children’s Recovery Center

The Children’s Recovery Center is a non-profit multidisciplinary Child Sexual Abuse Clinic that serves Horry and Georgetown counties. CRC provides independent medical exams and forensic interviews as well as psychological counseling for child victims of sexual and physical abuse.

Sea Haven, Inc.

Sea Haven’s focus is on the homeless/at-risk youth and their families in the community. Contributions help support the activities of the Sea Haven Shelter Home, which houses young adults that may not be able to reside at home for one reason or another. This program continues to offer supportive services in the areas of vocational counseling, job seeking skills, health and medical issues, transportation, basic life and social skills, and much more. Currently their Street Outreach Program (Project Lighthouse) has students from Coastal Carolina University that volunteer to read with children from the Boys and Girls Club and Canal Street Recreation Center. They provide a dance area to appeal to local art and dance programs. Through this creative learning, they hope to encourage youth to be positive and make better choices with their lives.

Teen Angel Fund

The Teen Angel Fund was created at North Myrtle Beach High School to help assist homeless students with items beyond their educational needs. Teen Angel originally began as a way to give these students a Christmas, but with the response from the community it has blossomed into much more. Last year the fund provided rental and utility assistance for individual students as well as food and clothing. This helps students stay in school and have a “normal” high school experience. Having underclothes that fit, a shirt with long enough sleeves, a new winter coat can make a change in a teenager’s life.

The Hall of Fame Foundation

In 1991 a group of friends who were bound by a common love for the music and culture that surrounds shag dancing came together to discuss how one of their group was in financial need due to bad health. They decided that they wanted to help out their friend’s situation. From that meeting the Hall of Fame Foundation was born. In their efforts to aid a friend, the members of The Foundation found a gift for themselves…they discovered the gift of giving. The spirit born in that meeting and fed on the gift of giving has grown over the years. Today The Foundation carries on in the tradition set forth by their founding members. We strive to seek out and assist members of the shag dancing community who need our assistance. There motto is “Friends Helping Friends”.
